Wisconsin came in 8th in the nation on a State Long-Term Services and Supports Scorecard included in a report issued by the AARP Public Policy Institute. States were ranked based on: affordability and access, choice of setting and provider, quality of life and quality of care, support for family caregivers, and effective transitions.
But despite the strong showing for Wisconsin and seven other states, the report found that the cost of long-term care is outpacing affordability for middle-income families – and private long-term care insurance is not filling the gap.
