Wisconsin Department of Health Services Secretary Kitty Rhoades announced August 16 that the Division of Long Term Care intends to proceed to contract with Community Care of Central Wisconsin to provide Family Care in 11 counties in northern Wisconsin. These counties include Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, and Washburn Counties, currently served by NorthernBridges.
“Our number one focus is the quality of services provided to residents in this region of Wisconsin, so we are delighted to proceed with Community Care of Central Wisconsin, which has a solid reputation for providing members the services they need effectively and efficiently,” Rhoades said.
The Department of Health Services announced in June that it was seeking proposals from parties interested in contracting as a managed care organization in this region. CCCW scored the best among the organizations that bid for the contract. The contract would be for one year beginning in 2014, with options for four, one-year renewals.
Family Care is a Medicaid program governed under federal and state requirements. It is a voluntary long term, managed care program that coordinates health care and long term care services based on the member’s desired goals.
