DQA Memo 13-003: Expansion of the University Wisconsin Oshkosh Caregiver Project: Continuing Education for Caregivers Investigating and Reporting Allegations of Misconduct.
For the past several years, the Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) has partnered with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Center for Career Development (UWO-CCDET) to provide statewide caregiver abuse/neglect prevention workshops for providers in entities regulated by DQA. Federal grants allowed DQA and CCDET to provide workshops at no cost to participants. The federal funding for these popular workshops has ended. However, DQA is able to partially subsidize a limited number of these workshops. To meet continued demand for training, DQA and CCDET will offer trainings in April and May 2013 at a cost to participants.
The UW-CCDET has expanded the Caregiver Project’s focus on abuse/neglect prevention by adding three new training modules on required continuing education topics. Three new modules for 2013 include Resident Rights, Standard Precautions, and Fire Safety.
